Contains accompanying papers including: The Sia, by Matilda Coxe Stevenson. Ethnology of the Ungava District, by Lucien M. Turner. A Study of Siouan Cults by J. Owen Dorsey. Illustrated with photographs and drawings. There are color plates of Sia ceremonial paraphernalia and of native-drawn sun dance scenes. The study of Siouan cults covers all of the Siouan speaking groups from Wi sconsin across the Plains down to the Arkansas River but excludes the Eastern Siouan groups and the Biloxi and Ofo. The Turner paper discusses the Eskimo, now called Inuit, and the Naskopi or Nenenot Indians.
